Renowned Osteopath Garry Carter has opened a new clinic on Upper North Street, Brighton.

Gerry came to Felce and Guy when the building was unoccupiable, and commissioned us to provide full architectural services for the creation the shop unit, treatment room, and alterations of the rest of the building to create a 3 bedroom living unit.

Working with Gerry, we were able to help realise his visions for the building, including securing the necessary planning and listed building consents.

Gerry has reported a strong upturn in business in his new "shopfront" location, and the project has been submitted for an award by the Montpelier and Clifton Hill Association. Revisit this page for updates.

"The Pass" Opens at South Lodge Hotel Print

South Lodge Hotel, has opened its new dining experience "the Pass". This is a development on the chefs table dining concept, and places guests in the heart of the hotel kitchen.

Following involvement with the hotels new bedroom extension, Felce and Guy Partnership were commissioned to undertake the coordination of consultants information, and provision of architectural services for the procurement of the new building to house the pass and its associated kitchen. We worked under project managers Day and Johnson, and with a team of services consultants, structural engineer, kitchen supply specialists, and interior designers, aswell as the hotels own retained surveyor and concept deisgner.

The main contractor for the project was Westridge construction

Simon Moore Joins Felce and Guy Print

Felce and Guy are pleased to announce that Simon Moore is joining our practice. Simon brings along with him a wealth of experience within the Architectural field, and will reinforce our knowledge resource enabling us to expand our range of projects. Simon is also the current chair for the RIBA Sussex Branch, and is involved with the RIBA South East Region.
 
Kemp Townhouse Opens For Business Print

The Kemp Townhouse has opened for business following an extensive renovation programme. Felce and Guy Partnershp were commissioned as lead consultants, and Architects for the project, coordinating the requirements of the client, and providing full architectural services during the construction period.
 
New Vocational Subjects teaching block at Farney Close School Print

Farney Close School have commissioned Felce and Guy Partnership (through HOP) to aid them with the procurement of a new vocational teaching block. The site is in an area of outstanding natural beaty, and as such new developments are strictly limited. However, Felce and Guy have managed to secure planning permission for a new building. It is intended that the subjects taught will range from motor mechanics to hair and beauty, and Felce and Guy will work with the school to develop the facilities around the specilised curriculum requirements.
 
Planning Permission Granted for 63 Holland Road. Print

Felce and Guy Partnership have obtained full planning permission for a mixed use development in Palmera Square, Hove. The scheme is a new build property containing 7 flats, and 2 retail units. The site is currently occupied by a single storey building which has fallen into disrepair. Issue of planning permission followed extensive consultation, and close working with the local planning authority, and conservation team due to the sensitive location of the site.
 
John Hendersons Big Achievement Print

Many of our clients will know John Henderson, who is one of our key architects.

Over the last three months, John has undertaken a cycling trip across the northern states of the USA. His total milage covered is over 4500 miles, which is a hugely impressive achievement.

If you haven't been following him, then check out his own blog page, which records his daily trials and celebrations.

John was cycling in aid of the charity Architects For Aid, and you can sponsor him on the Just Giving website.

John returns to us in the next couple of weeks, and we look forward to hearing all the details.

Felce and Guy Recognised in Sussex Heritage Trust awards Print

Felce and Guy have been recognised with a Highly Commended award at the Sussex Heritage Trust 2007 Awards.

The project, undertaken by Sophie Curtis Property, was at 38-39 Devonshire Place Brighton.

Felce and Guy were appointed to take the existing planning permission for 8 flats, redesign and re-submit for planning and listed building consent for 9 flats. In addition, we were commissioned to obtain building regulations permission and have provided design and technical advice throughout the project build.

 
Holy Trinity School, Crawley opens new technology and drama block. Print

Contractors CPSL have completed the £1.8m technology block building at Holy Trinity CE School, Crawley. The building provides new science, food technology, graphics, textiles and general teaching facilities to replace the schools outdated rooms. In addition the building features a drama room, with full theatrical lighting and sound systems provided by specialists KAVE theatrical services. The building was officially opened on 8 December 2006, by The Right Reverend Lindsay Urwin OGS., Bishop of Horsham.

Forest School Business Centre opens its doors Print

The new BUSINESS AND ENTERPRISE CENTRE building at the Forest School was officially opened on 18 October 2006. Project architects Jane Gray and Mohna Jolly attended the ceremony on behalf of the practice. Felce and Guy Partnership donated 2 plaques to the school to commemorate the opening.

Preston Nomads Cricket Club Print

PRESTON NOMADS CRICKET CLUB, new clubhouse at Fulking. Westridge Construction have just completed this £1.2m prestigious project and the club has just completed its first full season using the new facilities.
The President of the MCC, Robin Marler officially opened the building on a glorious Saturday day in mid June 2006.   The project architects were Derek Pickering and John Henderson and the whole office turned out for the occasion. FGP donated a print of the famous cricket match Sussex v Kent. Retired partner Ron Guy restored the picture.
