All Saints CE Primary School, Horsham is a new school consisting of 7 classrooms, school hall, staff facilities and administration offices.
The building was designed to be energy efficient and utilises a sectional form that enables natural stack effect ventilation. The deep overhanging eaves to the south facing elevations minimise solar gain in summer months while louvred panels over the external windows allow natural light to penetrate the building.
The classrooms also benefit from high-level north lights and internal artificial lighting feature automatic switching, if the room is left unoccupied. The toilets are supplied with harvested rainwater.
The project was completed and occupied in September 2001 at a project cost of £1.5 million.
The practice have also completed 2 extensions to the school in 2006, which due to changing curriculum, required larger staff facilities, storage and special educational needs classes. In addition, a large group room was created.
