The Specialist School Status project comprises a new build Business Centre with six classbases and a seminar room for two hundred together with an extension to the existing Technology block for heavy engineering.
The centre will be used during school hours both by Forest pupils and other local schools. In addition, the new areas will be available, by arrangement, for students from Crawley College and for adult learners from the local community for the teaching of, for example, CAD & CAM, Business and numeracy It will also be let to local businesses for training.
The project has been funded as part of the DfES Specialist School Programme, sponsorship, LEA and the schools DFC. The cost of the building works was £1.5M. Works were completed in August 2006
